Message from the Headteacher

I would like to take this opportunity to warmly welcome you to our website, where you will find information about our academy and be able to see the wonderful events and work taking place at Birley.

I am enormously proud to be the Headteacher at Birley Primary Academy. We are a mainstream three-form primary school – situated in south-east Sheffield – that is committed toΒ inclusive education and meeting the needs of all the children in our care.

We are a happy andΒ positive educational setting where diversity is truly celebrated. This school is a special place where we are very ambitious for all of our pupils.Β We have a team of talented, hardworking and committed staff who are dedicated to doing the very best for all children.

Our parents and carers are more than welcome to speak to any member of the Senior Leadership Team or any member of our Safeguarding and Inclusion team should they have any questions or concerns through calling the office, who will happily arrange this.Β Alternatively, you can email any enquiries toΒ enquiries@birleyprimaryacademy.co.ukΒ and this will be forwarded to the relevant personnel.

Alternatively, if you are considering choosing Birley Primary Academy to be the right setting for your child’s education, you are more than welcome to take the opportunity to visit us and experience the inspiring and positive atmosphere here for yourself. Just call the office to make an appointment and a member of our team would be delighted to show you around.

Regards,

Dawn McAughey

An incredible day of art with Sheffield artist Pete McKee

We were thrilled to welcome local artist Pete McKee to Birley Primary Academy where he spent time with pupils across the school to explore his iconic style and inspire their own creativity and works of art.Β

It's for adults to. I love it and started in my 60s. Black belt next year. Bring your grandparents as well. The venue is great

It has been fantastic to welcome back all members of our school community this morning! 😊

There was a real buzz of excitement as children arrived, and it has been wonderful to see our classrooms full of happy, engaged learners once again. From our walks around school this morning, we have already seen children demonstrating the Birley Values through their exceptional behaviour and positive attitudes.

We are incredibly proud of how the children have started the new school year and can't wait to see all that they achieve in the months ahead. Here's to a fantastic year together! 🌟

🐼 πŸ»β€β„οΈ A warm welcome to our new FS2 children and families! πŸ»β€β„οΈπŸΌ

We are very excited to meet our new FS2 children tomorrow for their first day at school! Starting school is such a special milestone, and we know it can bring a mixture of excitement and nerves for both children and their families. Please be reassured that our team will be there to help every child feel happy, safe and settled.

A few reminders for tomorrow morning:

⭐️ Arrival time – Our school day starts at 8.35am. Please bring your child directly to their classroom door.

⭐️ Water bottles – Children should bring a clearly labelled water bottle filled with water. πŸ’§

⭐️ Snack time – Please provide your child with a healthy snack to enjoy during the morning.

⭐️ PE lessons – Our PE day will be Thursday, however PE sessions will not begin until a few weeks into the term.

⭐️ Collection arrangements – Children should be collected from their classroom door at 11.45am on Thursday 3rd and Friday 4th September. Full days start on Monday 7th September.

Most importantly, please don't worry if your child is feeling a little uncertain about coming to school. Every child responds differently to new experiences. Some will arrive full of confidence, while others may need a little extra encouragement. Whatever their reaction, we are ready to support them and ensure they have a positive start to their school journey.

We can't wait to welcome everyone in the morning! πŸΌπŸ»β€β„οΈ
