Every Friday, we celebrate achievements across the academy through our Sparkle and Shine celebration assembly. In this assembly, class teachers select a child or small group of children who they feel deserve acknowledgment for either an amazing piece of learning, fantastic attitude in the classroom or for outstanding behaviour. Parents and carers of all of the recipients are also invited to attend to watch their child receive a special certificate and Headteacher’s Award sticker from Mrs McAughey. Sparkle and Shine is an amazing opportunity for children’s learning to be celebrated by the whole school community and we all look forward to this every week.
In addition to our learning awards, children have the opportunity to earn other treats and prizes. Firstly, ten lucky children will be able to choose a special prize if their ‘Golden Ticket’ is selected in assembly. Golden Tickets are awarded during the course of the week for superb behaviour at lunchtimes. Further to this, 5 lucky children are selected to have ‘Hot Chocolate with the Headteacher’ from a prize draw. Hot Chocolate tickets are given to our Always Children; children who have always been doing the right thing during the course of the week.
