Eco Warriors

The Birley Primary Academy Eco-Warriors is a group of children whose job is to spread awareness of environmental issues the world is facing, promote eco-friendly choices and improve our school and local community. The group is made up of 17 members – 1 child from every class in Year 1 to Year 6, who are elected to represent their class by their peers.

Last year, the Eco-Warriors achieved the Green Flag award, as part of ‘Keep Britain Tidy’ for their hard work in school and the local community.

The Eco-Warriors organise events, competitions and ways to raise awareness of different eco issues. They meet with Miss Humphrey to discuss new ideas and make decisions. The Eco-Warriors focus on many topics, these are:

  • Biodiversity
  • Energy
  • Global Citizenship
  • Healthy Living
  • Litter
