At Birley Primary Academy, we have a breakfast club and an after-school club which are both located in the academy’s dining room.
For children, it is a fantastic way of socialising and playing with their friends and for parents and carers it offers an established, safe child-care provision which can provide an onsite facility and is run by qualified and experienced staff who have training in play, first aid and food hygiene.
As our wrap-around care is run by the academy, we are OFSTED inspected making us a registered provider; therefore, we are able to accept childcare vouchers amongst our varied payment options for parents and carers.
Our Breakfast Club provides a calm and friendly start to the day. Pupils can arrive from 8.00am where they can enjoy a healthy breakfast including toast, fruit, bagels with either juice, milk or water. They have time to socialise and play with friends before being escorted into class on time for the start of the academy day.
Our Breakfast Club is a helpful option for busy families and gives children the chance to start their day feeling settled and ready to learn in a familiar setting.
Our after-school club is held in the dining room and offers a safe, fun space for children to wind down after the school day, spending time with their friends before heading home. There’s a mix of indoor and outdoor activities to suit different interests including sports, crafts, games, gardening and baking. Children can enjoy a healthy snack such as cheese and crackers, fruit or popcorn.
The after-school club is located in the dining room. On arrival, children are served a snack – for example cheese and crackers, fruit and popcorn. Afterwards children get the chance to play and enjoy lots of different activities which are planned in conjunction with the children and staff. Sports, TV, crafts, games, gardening and baking are just a few of the play activities the children are offered.

To ensure your child is properly cared for, we will need some basic information such as contact and medical details as part of the registration process.
We can offer flexibility for some parents/carers for example shift workers/occasional sessions. For more information please speak with a member of staff or call the school office to check availability.
